A well-established Tier 2 Design and Build company specialising in office fit-out projects. Who pride themselves on delivering high-quality, innovative, and sustainable solutions for their clients. Operating along the M3 and M4 corridors, their projects range from small to medium-sized office spaces, ensuring that each design meets the specific needs of clients.
They are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Designer to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing detailed design drawings, technical documentation, and ensuring that all aspects of the design align with project specifications and client requirements. The role requires a deep understanding of office fit-out projects and the ability to work closely with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Design Development:
Produce detailed technical drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and details.
Translate conceptual designs into practical, buildable solutions.
Ensure designs comply with all relevant building regulations, codes, and standards.
Project Coordination:
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other design professionals to integrate design intent with technical requirements.
Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure design intent is maintained throughout the project.
Assist in the preparation of design briefs, specifications, and schedules.
Documentation & Compliance:
Prepare and review technical documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Ensure all designs meet health and safety regulations and other statutory requirements.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, materials, and technology relevant to office fit-out projects.
Client Interaction:
Attend client meetings to understand their requirements and present technical design solutions.
Provide technical support during the project lifecycle, including site visits and inspections as required.
Problem Solving:
Identify potential design challenges and propose solutions that align with project goals.
Ensure that any design changes are managed effectively and communicated to the relevant parties.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Degree in Architectural Technology, Interior Design, or a related field.
Professional accreditation (e.g., CIAT, RIBA) is desirable but not essential.
Experience
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Technical Designer, preferably within the office fit-out sector.
Proven track record of delivering projects ranging from £500k to £2 million in value.
Experience working on projects along the M3/M4 corridor is advantageous.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant design software.
Strong understanding of building regulations, construction methods, and materials.
Ability to produce detailed construction drawings and specifications.
