A rapidly growing Design & Build (D&B) contractor based in Central London. Over the past three years, the company has doubled in size, now generating an annual turnover of £35 million, with plans to grow to £50 million over the next five years. With 70% of their business generated from repeat clients, the company has secured major frameworks and regularly undertakes projects exceeding £5 million in value.
The Project Director will play a pivotal role in delivering £5 million of projects per year, focusing on both new business and account management of existing clients. This position requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage multiple large-scale projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management and be key to driving the company’s continued growth and success in London.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the successful delivery of multiple D&B projects valued at £5 million+ per year, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to client satisfaction.
Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing clients, with a focus on repeat business and securing future projects.
Identify new business opportunities and work closely with the pre-construction and business development teams to win and secure large-scale projects.
Contribute to the strategic direction of the company, helping to grow the business in line with the company’s five-year plan.
Lead, mentor, and support project teams, ensuring they are motivated and equipped to meet project goals and deliver exceptional results.
Identify project risks early and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
Ensure all projects adhere to the company’s high standards for quality, safety, and sustainability.
Key Requirements
Proven track record of delivering £5 million+ projects within the D&B sector.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience overseeing large project teams.
Excellent client relationship management skills, with a track record of maintaining and growing key accounts.
Experience in identifying and securing new business opportunities.
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage budgets, contracts, and project finances effectively.
Ability to contribute to the company’s long-term growth strategy and align project delivery with overall business goals.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Professional certification (e.g., MRICS, MCIOB) is advantageous but not essential.
