We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager with office fit out experience to join our client’s London-based team. You will be responsible for managing all on-site activities, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be leading teams on high-profile fit-out projects, managing subcontractors, and working closely with project managers and clients to meet expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage all on-site activities for fit-out projects, from inception through to completion, ensuring the programme is adhered to and deadlines are met.
Ensure the highest standards of workmanship and finish, in line with client expectations and company quality standards.
Enforce and maintain strict health and safety protocols on-site, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies.
Coordinate and manage subcontractors, ensuring that work is completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards. Provide clear direction and resolve any issues that may arise.
Build strong working relationships with clients, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any concerns or queries in a timely manner.
Monitor and control project costs, materials, and labour to ensure projects are delivered within the agreed budget. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring that all works are completed in line with the project timeline and any adjustments are communicated effectively.
Proactively identify potential challenges and provide effective solutions to minimise disruption to the project and maintain progress.
Key Requirements:
Proven experience as a Construction Manager on high-value fit-out projects. A solid understanding of construction processes and industry best practices.
Strong background in managing fit-out projects, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to deliver high-quality finishes.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate teams to deliver exceptional results in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with clients, subcontractors, and project teams.
Relevant qualifications in construction management or a related field (e.g. NVQ, HNC, or degree). SMSTS and CSCS certification are essential.
Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and its practical application on site.
Proficient in using project management software and Microsoft Office suite, with the ability to manage project documentation and reporting effectively.
