Quantity Surveyor

Our client is an award winning office interiors company who specialise in office fit outs and refurbishments. They are a tier 1 contractor who continue going from strength to strength.


We are currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor for an exciting project located in Cambridge, working on the conversion of three units into a large, modern office space with a mezzanine. The project is valued at £6 million, with a timeline of 35 weeks, starting at the end of August. This is a fast-paced, high-profile project for a leading client, requiring a skilled Quantity Surveyor with experience in CAT B fit-outs and some design and build (D&B) exposure.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Management: Manage and control project costs to ensure the project is delivered within budget.

  • Valuations & Variations: Conduct regular valuations and manage variations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

  • Procurement: Oversee the procurement of subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring value for money and adherence to the project timeline.

  • Contract Administration: Administer contracts in accordance with the project requirements, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions.

  • Site Visits: Regularly visit the Cambridge site and/or London office to oversee progress and liaise with the project team.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the project manager, design team, and contractors to ensure smooth project delivery.

  • Reporting: Provide regular cost reports and updates to the senior management team, highlighting any potential risks or issues.



Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally with CAT B fit-out and some design & build (D&B) project exposure.

  • Driving License: Must have a valid UK driving license and be able to travel between Cambridge and London as required.

  • Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing project demands and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Communication: Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.

  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous in your approach, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work and taking pride in project outcomes.



Location Flexibility:

  • London-Based Candidates: Will work primarily from the London office, with regular visits to the Cambridge site.

  • Cambridge-Based Candidates: Will work primarily on-site in Cambridge, with occasional visits to the London office.
